Excavator

Excavators are fae who professionally explore the Pachysphere in the Shifting Lands. Their job is to find abnormal materials that would otherwise be difficult to create or obtain, even with the use of sequencing (dubbed cash or arts by excavators). Excavating is dangerous, so excavators use skill and advanced technology to protect themselves and acquire rare resources.

Excavators have a strong work culture revolving around fitness, resilience, and brotherhood.

Structure

Excavators work in a closely-knit crew of four. A single crew excavates once every 4 to 8 days. Crews are officially designated by their citadel followed by a number, though many also assign unofficial nicknames to themselves.

Though this is not mandated by any central authority, each member of a crew takes on one of three roles.

Hunter

A hunter acquires materials. They are versatile, using a wide range of tools and specialized equipment to detect and extract abnormal materials.

Crews usually have two hunters.

Hauler

A hauler carries, or is otherwise responsible for transporting, found materials. Often, they carry some of their crew's equipment as well.

Haulers need to be strong and fit. They often use versatile wagons or vehicles, the later which they drive. Some crews have two haulers.

Observer

The observer of the crew keeps track of the weather while operating in the Pachysphere. An observer uses specialized equipment to detect changes in wind that may signal an incoming wave of extreme æthereal changes.

Crews always have only one observer. Observers are usually of a species with hands. Duke is an observer.
