Archmaster

An archmaster is a leader and representative of a citadel. There are ten archmasters in Luxtia, one for each citadel (except Titan).

Responsibilities

Each archmaster represents their citadel. If they want to change the citadel in any way, they may create a proposal for their citadel's board to review. This works in reverse as well; the board must propose their changes to the archmaster as well. This board varies between citadels but mostly comprises of employees and apprentice representatives.

Externally, each archmaster takes part in the economic planning of their territory, especially of the settlement around their citadel. They act as both an ambassador and a representative for their citadel.

Nationally

All archmasters in Luxtia must share their citadel's economics, plans, and studies with all other archmasters. They meet monthly in Callisto but usually correspond through the Yarpanet.

Widespread decisions affecting multiple territories (and some local but tricky decisions) are decided democratically between the archmasters. If a decision affects only one state, then only that state votes. Otherwise, both vote. Due to the imbalance between the two states, Jupiter votes are worth 3 points each, while Saturn votes count as 2 points each. (Prior to Titan's fall, this ratio was 7 to 4.) In the event of a tie, a citadel is required to change their vote.

x

A new archmaster is decided for a citadel when its current archmaster plans to retire or otherwise leaves office. Archmasters may retire at any age or be deposed via the other archmasters' unanimous vote.

The candidates for the new archmaster are decided by that citadel's board. The archmaster has no involvement in this selection.

The requirements for a nominee, which cannot be changed except by unanimous decision across the archmasters and boards, varies but includes at least the following:

The candidates are then presented to the archmasters of their state, who then vote on the successor.
